Submit an App Proposal

If you're developing a widget component, you'll need to submit a proposal for our team to review. You can also submit a proposal if you're not sure if your app's a good fit for the Wix App Market.

This is a great way to hear from our experts who'll take a look at your app idea and let you know if it's suitable for our platform, or the steps you need to take to get it ready.

Here’s what we recommend you do before submitting a proposal:
  • New to the Wix App Market?: learn more about us, our users, and our apps.
  • Find what makes your idea unique: browse our App Market to make sure your app delivers value by offering features or functionality that similar apps don’t.
  • Let our articles be your guide: read through our planning guide and guidelines so that you understand the basics of integrating your product.
  • Check out our available REST APIs and webhooks: browse our Docs library to see what's available.

Prepare your proposal

The goal here is to show us what your product can offer users. Your proposal (and your app) must be in English, even if you’re planning to also offer the app in other languages.

Here’s a list of what you’ll need:
  • A name for your app: this is usually the name of your existing product – you’ll be able to change it later if you like.
  • An app description: tell us what your app does, how you plan to integrate with Wix, and anything else that can help us get to know your app.
  • The main features: write a brief explanation of each important feature in your app.
  • Integration requirements (if relevant): check if your app needs any info from Wix to work, like purchases made on Wix sites or locked components such as a Widget or Embedded Script.
  • A value proposition: show how your app can help Wix users do more with their site.
  • A list of similar apps and what makes your app unique: browse the App Market to find apps that offer similar features and tell us what your app offers that other apps don’t.
  • A pricing plan (optional): Describe the kind of business model you want to use, and what you plan to charge per month.

Submit your proposal

Here’s how to submit your app proposal in the Wix Developers Center:
  1. Go to dev.wix.com/proposal
  2. Fill out the proposal form with info about your company and app. 

What happens next

We’ll review your proposal and get back to you within 15 business days. You’ll get a response to both the address you submitted the proposal with and the one you provided as your Contact email in the proposal itself.

Here’s what you can expect:
  • We’ll give you feedback: so that you can get your app ready for development.
  • If we need more info, we’ll ask you to send it: we may have a few follow-up questions about your product before we can approve or reject your proposal.
  • If Wix isn’t right for your app, we’ll reject your proposal: you won’t be able to submit this app for review later, but we encourage you to let us know if you have another product that might be a better fit.
